UltraHumanizer browser extension privacy notice
Updated October 8, 2026
The UltraHumanizer extension provides text rewriting and the website’s ten text, image and voice tools. This notice describes the extension alongside our website privacy policy.
What is accessed and sent
When you use the toolbar, context menu or extension shortcut, the extension can read your selected text on the current page. On websites you explicitly enable, a local selection listener shows a Humanize button next to selected text. Selecting text alone does not send it to our service. Choosing Humanize in the page button, context menu, shortcut or editor sends your selected or pasted text, rewrite settings, task identifiers and account authorization to ultrahumanizer.ai over HTTPS. UltraHumanizer passes the submitted text to its configured AI processing provider to generate your result. Do not submit confidential information you are not authorized to share.
Grammar checking, summarization and slop rewriting send only the text you submit and chosen settings to the service and DeepSeek. Image detection sends a resized copy of the image you explicitly choose to check. Text detection, voice detection, text cleaning, text cloaking, readability and comparison run locally using packaged code and models. Their content is not sent to our service; only the tool identifier and a random task identifier are sent to account for a tool use. Microphone access is requested only if you choose Record voice. Recording stops when you stop it, leave that tool, or reach two minutes. Uploaded or recorded audio remains on your device.
The current rewriting provider is DeepSeek. Submitted drafts and adjacent passages from the same submitted draft are processed through its API. Infrastructure providers Vercel and Supabase host the service and its server records. Their processing is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy policies; this notice does not promise a separate provider retention period.
Your account identifier, email address, plan and word allowance are used to show your account and charge the existing allowance. The server also processes IP addresses, request times, word counts, error codes and operational metadata for security, usage accounting and service reliability. The extension keeps enabled website origins and source-page identifiers locally to manage permissions and safely replace text; it does not send page URLs or browsing history to our service. A selected field or editable paragraph is checked locally to prevent overwriting newer edits. Unselected surrounding field content and passwords are not submitted. We do not sell extension data or use it for advertising or credit decisions.
Storage and retention
Connection credentials are stored in extension-only local browser storage. Drafts, selected text, tool results and task recovery state are held in browser session storage, expire after 24 hours, and are cleared when you clear the draft, disconnect or close the browser. They are not synced through your browser account. Raw audio and selected file data are not stored in extension storage. File data exists in memory while processing; continuing a paused media task may require selecting the file again. Completed server responses are temporarily retained for up to 24 hours for recovery and duplicate-charge prevention; scheduled cleanup removes expired responses. The extension does not automatically add content to website writing history. Account and billing records follow the website policy.
Your control
Only the text you submit is rewritten. Replacing text requires a separate click and is supported in ordinary text inputs, textareas and compatible single-paragraph rich-text selections. The extension checks that the source has not changed before replacing it. Complex or unsupported editors use copy and paste. You can disable each website selection button in extension settings and clear individual or completed session tasks. Closing a panel or card does not cancel an already submitted rewrite. Stopping local waiting may not cancel server processing; resume the original task to retrieve its status. Disconnecting revokes the extension connection and removes local account data. Removing the extension removes its local storage. You may contact support@ultrahumanizer.ai about access, deletion and privacy requests.
Permissions and limited use
The extension uses activeTab and scripting to read or replace a selection after your action; contextMenus for the selection menu; sidePanel for its editor; storage for preferences, enabled sites, connection and session recovery; identity for website sign-in; offscreen to host a packaged worker for user-requested processing and local model inference while the panel is closed; and access to ultrahumanizer.ai for its service. Optional website permissions are requested only when you enable the selection button on a website, and can be removed in settings. Code, inference runtime and local detector models ship inside the extension package. No remote executable code is downloaded. Detector scores are estimates and do not prove authorship or authenticity. No advertising or third-party analytics scripts run inside the extension.
Use and transfer of information received through the extension follow the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use that information only to provide and secure the disclosed writing features, account connection and usage accounting.
